Random Pictures from December+January

Ellie+ her awesome Aunts!

She saw the stripes of light on the couch and wanted to give her snowman stripes, so she sat and read her snowman book like this

Handsome boy. He's had a blast lately playing in this empty storage bin.

I had left some blue tape in Ellie's room on accident, and when I went to get her at the end of quiet time, this is what I found :)

Aiden got sick so all he wanted to do was not move ans watch movies.

A bunch from a day we went out playing in the woods

Ellie and Aiden both really likes to point at all the trees and say "YO tall! " (so tall!)

And lastly, Ellie had her first big injury this month. She was standing on the kitchen chair and fell off. Her upper mouth was the victim- it caught on the table edge on the way down. She put a pretty decent gash in her upper gums, and tore the piece of tissue that connected her upper lip and gums to shreds. It bled a lot, mommy was freaking out a little! We iced it, and within 2 days it was completely healed,  and scar tissue filled in the gash.
Whelp. That's it.

Walking in a Winter Wonderland

The very last day we were in Utah,  I was able to go snowshoeing with Dad, Tyler and Monica. Ben stayed home with the kids since he had gone just two days before, so that meant a day off for me! Yippee!
We went to the usual place- you buy a pass at the Solitude nordic center and then go snowshoeing around Silver Lake. Every time I go, I am freshly awed and the beauty of that place. Seriously. In rain or shine, Summer or Winter, I LOVE Silver Lake. We were a bit worried about the weather as we headed out, but it turned out to be great. It was overcast and lightly snowing which added to the magical winter feeling. It was a great trip, albeit a bit tiring! I'm not sure how far we went, but it was pretty far and downhill which meant the uphill was on the way back. Whew! Wore me out, but man was it a great trip!
Here are a zillion pictures. Some from my phone, some I took on my brother's camera, and some he took. I didn't take my regular camera

This little tree looked like a snowflake from above

That little tiny person is me

As soon as you start going uphill, it gets pretty hot pretty fast! No need for big layers

For Aiden's birthday coming up, I'm planning a woodland themed party. While snowshoeing, we saw these little baby pinecones, and as soon as I saw them I knew that I needed some for his party! All of a sudden, I could picture what kind of cake I'm going to make him.  Call me a nerd, but I'm so excited!

My not-so-little little brother and I

What a great day!
