Party Party

Well, Saturday this week was filled with 2 parties!

In the morning, I took Ellie to a birthday party at the splash pad. It was for a little friend in the ward who is just a few weeks older than Ellie. Pizza+splash pad+mickey mouse cookies+friends always equals fun!

In the afternoon, we went to the stars and stripes party at the Riverwoods. It's just some festivities they put together as part of the freedom festival. We had a great time! I took way too many pictures (of course!) and Ellie had a few new fun experiences. Here's a picture summary :)

We went with a Nutella and Creme waffle...yum!

This girl gives the best hugs!

Our Saturdays this summer have been a blast! We're looking forward to the next two a ton too....next Saturday our giant family get together vacation (well....stay-cation for us since we're so close!) commences, and the following Saturday is Ellie's b-day party.

Carnival and Concert

What a great weekend!

Starting with Saturday. We had planned on going to the hot air balloon festival in Springville, but alas, winds were high and we weren't sure if they'd put the balloons up so we decided to skip it. We'll just hit the one in Provo on the 4th.
Late morning though, we headed out to Orem to attend their Summerfest. We had lots of fun, Ellie especially loved it. She made a craft (a styrofoam crown), rode several rides, and got her hair done. We were amazed she actually sat still enough for that, but she did! They put a cute little french braid on one side. Her favorite of the rides was the boats, she rode those ones twice and had a jolly good time ringing the bell and steering her boat.

Afterwords, we drove up to SLC and visited with my family for the afternoon, then we left the kids with grandma and grandpa to babysit and Ben and I went the One Republic concert. It was awesome! They were touring with The Script, who we also really like, and their opener was American Authors. I don't really know their songs except the few that are on the radio, but they're good too. We had a great time.

Sunday for Father's day we just spent the day with family, and then we had a burger bar for dinner. I did a teriyaki burger with grilled pineapple and guacamole. So yummy.
Ironically, the only picture we got on Father's day was of my mom and the grandkids. For some reason my phone wouldn't focus, but it's still cute.

And so it begins....

...Summer that is!

For us, it kind of seems like summer is just starting. The weather is officially consistently hot. Ben has started his intership. Those two things for me make it summer.

So, here are some fun things we've done with our summer so far.

-Built a fort

Ellie is really into wearing her tutu lately. She has put it on almost every day this week. I have a feeling she's going to be the queen of dress up

-Met up with my brother for dinner. He came down to check out an apartment because he's moving down for school. We're excited to have him close!

-Went to the Utah Lake Festival. We signed up too late to get on one of the boat rides, which was a bummer, but Ellie at least got to make some crafts and play a few games. Ellie also fell while walking and got her first scraped knee! Ben and I were so sad!

Ellie is wearing a fish hat she made.
She really liked looking at the boats

Poor little knee!

Also, Danny was around for the weekend so we had him drive the kids to the festival and Ben took me on his scooter, which was great! I hadn't had a chance to ride on it yet. He also watched the kids in the evening for half an hour or so and Ben took me over to the church parking lot and taught me to drive it. Yee Haw!

We've also been over to the splash pad a few times. It's less than 5 minutes away, which is great. We can go over whenever, and I don't feel bad if we only stay for a short time because we can always come back! I have a feeling we'll be over there a lot this summer. We went to the splash pad at the Riverwoods once last summer, and Ellie didn't like it at all, but this summer she does.

This was the first time we went

And these were the second.  I took my camera to get some pictures, but it turns out I left the SD card sitting in the computer. Luckily, Danny had his phone which turned out better anyway because it's waterproof so he got some fun pictures I wouldn't have.

And here a few random other pictures from the week.

Ellie really likes helping us cook. Here she's helping crack the eggs for breakfast

Again with the tutu

This week was a great start to summer!

4 Months

I'm sort of in denial that this little love of mine is 4 months already!

I'm not ready for him to be getting so big.
I'm not ready for him to start eating solids soon.
I'm not ready for him to be half way to crawling and a third of the way to his first birthday already for goodness sakes!

Aiden now
-Loves to play with his feet. And eat them.
-Loves to watch himself kick
-Plays with toys and eats them like crazy. His favorite is his crinkly toy.
-Big flirt. In Young Women's, he just watches the girls the whole time, and if any one of them look at him, he instantly gives them his biggest grin and sweetest squeal.
-Is 15 lbs (40th percentile and only 5 lbs away from Ellie!) and 26 inches long (85th percentile) and his head was in the 70th something percentile. I never remember the head numbers for some reason.

Ellie decided to burrito wrap him.......again. I feel like this picture defines part of their relationship :)

Love my boy!
